The iPad (all of them) only ever get warm. Even people/sites claiming it gets "hot" only ever provide temperature readings that are nothing but "warm." And as far as iPad 3 vs iPad 2, it's only a maximum of around 5 degrees C warmer under load. This is more ridiculous than the iPhone 4 antenna "scandal."
