A lot of people don't even pick up on that. The "phone line" is portable. Your number exists anywhere you connect the ATA (the phone adapter). If you know you need to make a lot of regular calls to a specific place, get multiple subscriptions and then send one of the ATAs to that place. Calls between customers of the same VOIP service are typically free, so you can get that second subscription on the lowest plan too. Get it with your current local area code and you can even call it from an outside line without long distance charges.

Take it with you to the hotel and plug it into their broadband. Now when someone calls you at home, you still get the call. Doesn't costt them anything extra and it costs you only the broadband connection fee at the hotel (which you'd already be using to surf for porn, etc. )
