Just my 2 cents:

After having so much trouble with ReiserFS (I paid my Internetprovider for months just for connectiong me to namesys.com...) I sweared myself never to go back to reiserfs. This system is so complicated, in case of trouble you have to be a filesystem-god. Just the opposite to ext3. So I use ext3 now for some time and am happy.

A filesystem is just as good as it is in case of an failure. Only then you may see if it was a good choice. A little more speed is now quite unimportant for me...

This is an opinion of a man who never programmed such things as kernels or filesystems, I'm just user and programmer, no filesystem-crack.
