Well, there are 2 possibilities.
1) all Kenwood remotes share the same IR codes for the same types of buttons on their remotes
2) different Kenwood devices respond to different code sets.
As far as I can tell, either would be equally likely, leaving you with a 50/50 chance that the remote will work with the empeg. However, there were some differently labeled buttons on the new remote that aren't on the empeg/Rio remote, so I doubt thsoe would work either way.
Now, I believe empeg was going to offer support for multiple remotes in the new emplode. What would be really cool is if they could make it so the empeg could
learn codes, like some universal remotes (like the Phillips Pronto). That, of course would make all this very easy
But this probably isn't possible.
