I know that this isnt the most recent HiJack, and I shall be upgrading once I've posted this, but it could lead Mark to find a problem that has been carried forward.

I was sync'ing a few hundred tracks onto the player via ethernet when they all failed being unable to contact the player - as it had crashed.

It's probally the issue that was fixed in 263 when he turned hte frame pointers back on. It's the exact same issue that I and several other people on here had.

Upgrade to the latest, and that'll probally fix it.

Mmm.. that crash was our good old friend "ext2_new_block()", which others have also seen from time to time.

This probably won't happen with the newest Hijack kernels, as I've turned on "frame pointer" support in those again, and others have reported that their crashes disappeared after doing that.

Cheers

Thanks Mark, it was a 'just in case' posting. No problems since going to 271.
