I laughed out loud at the last part of that headline.

It's OK, Doug, red wine will do, especially for cardiac disease prevention. (Interesting, German studies recommend beer or white wine, French red wine, Swedish aquavit.... )

Hm, I had less problem by far acquiring taste for those weird Belgian dark beers aged in casks than acquiring those beers themselves here in Zagreb...

Ah, beer...probably our best export product (together with chocolats and waffels), though consumed very much in the country as well! .

Actually, if you read the article, it says the problem was because of loss of body fat. So you can

-drink alcohol as a weight-loss scheme
-don't worry about cancer if you also eat a lot of greasy food

unfortunately both articles are (almost) saying the same thing,
if you do something in moderation then you are fine, but going too far is bad.
How can this be new news?
