Has anyone successfully connected to the Empeg with Serial? I bought a USB serial adapter, and I can see "data" coming across, but it's basically just garbage (not the data I expect it to display, at least). If anyone's gotten any serial connection to work with the Empeg let me know, because if you get that far, then I can make jEmpeg use it....

I had tried the same unsuccessfully. Didn't even get garbage. But then, maybe I was expecting too much, since my USB-serial thingy didn't say it supported OSX...

What OS and what Terminal emulator do you use?

OS X with the Keyspan Twin-Serial USB adapter ... It's supported under OS X. It was really frustrating, because it appeared to just ignore my requests to change the serial connection options, which I'm sure was the problem (wrong speed or something). It sucks especially because I would reboot the Empeg, and I would see the blocks of garbage that were obviously the startup messages, but I wasn't ever able to make it not be gibberish ... And of course, I have no idea if was the serial cable that quite right, or the serial adapter not quite right, or the settings for the adapter........

How about finding out what setting the keyspan adaptor is expecting and setting up the empeg to match on a (dare I say it) PC ... ?
