Sometimes i'll have a playlist going, or have my whole catalogue playing, and i'll think of a song that i really want to hear. So i'll use the search feature to find it, then when I select the song, it gets rid of the playlist that was playing. Is there any way to search the song, then bring up the "Insert, Append, Replace" menu so that it doesn't discard the playlist it was on?

Yes. Press the Select Mode button on the Rio Remote to change it between "Insert, Append, Replace" on the screen while you are in the search screen. This requires 2.0 software.
