Yes, right after CES, Hugo gave us a report of the in-dash MP3 players coming out this year. There were two big ones, and that was one of the two. I think the other one was by Pioneer.

From what i've been reading on these units is one MAJOR drawback....No ID3 tags or filenames......I would get lost with 10 gigs of just numbered songs....

acccully there is id3tags.. its weird how they do it, and rather stupid, it basically holds the whole cddb in the player itself, a waste hog, and every month or so sony will have updates that you can download burn to a cdr and update the cddb, pretty wack, but at least u get the id3taggin

I don't think having the CDDB on the player is stupid. It's how the HSX-109 works, and it's quite good and functional.

The difference is that the HSX-109 has an internet connection and doesn't need monthly CDDB updates. If you put in a CD it doesn't already have in its database, it will do a quick internet connection to look up that particular CD.

Also, the HSX lets you manually enter tag data for things that don't exist in the CDDB, but I'm not sure how that other unit handles this situation.

I just can't wait until all of those people who complained about the empeg needed to be pulled out of the car get one of these.. After about an hour, they will be BEGGING to be able to pull their new "break into my car and steal my months' of encoding" mp3 player out to load music.

Interior dome lights won't be needed anymore because of all the little light bulbs going off over people's heads as they realize why the empeg was designed the way it was. Total bush league.
