I'm trying to follow the FAQ on how to set up the Wendy Filters. I'm trying to do some exclusions on a certain genre. So, in Emplode, I go under that genre from the soup view, do a select all, and set the wendy filter to exclude. The icons change, and then I sync. When applying the filter, nothing happens (still shows the same amount of total songs). Also, after rebooting, the icon marking disappears on the songs that I applied the filter to. If I look at the properties again, the filter is no longer applied.

Also, assuming I can get this working, is there a way to get the player to default with the filter on (filter gets turned off on power down.. or at least the little "f" disappears).

Any filter experts out there?

Thanks
-Ted

The filters getting un-applied after a reboot is a known bug that will be fixed in the next release.

The flags not getting applied to the tracks is a whole different thing, it sounds like a bug, but I haven't seen that one before. Give it a try on a smaller subset of tracks, and do your selection from within a playlist rather than from within a Soup view. See if that works. If so, try working up from there (more tracks, track subsets in soup views, etc.) and see if you can narrow down the exact case which causes the bug.

Never mind. Confirmed the bug myself.

When you apply Wendy Flags to tracks in a Playlist view, it works.

When you apply Wendy Flags to tracks in a Soup view, it does not work.

Bug has been entered into the internal bugbase.

Could a workaround be to copy everything in a soup view (all of the songs that fit a particular genre in this example), paste them into a playlist, and then apply the filter?

If that works - would deleting that playlist (the tracks would appear else where in other playlists) effect the files?
