Where?

I have a friend still trying to get one, and I'm not seeing it in any section of the store...

Last time everyone thought Sonic Blue had sold out, I checked and got a 30gig within 2 days. So if it says their in stock and you order it you should get it no probs.... I'm kicking myself cause I ordered a backup 10 gig from carplayer.com for 350.... I should have waited!!!

From where is that page linked? I can't find it in the Rio or Steals & Deals pages.

It does say "Our Last Units" in bright red that I don't recall seeing before, and it is listing in stock (the 30 and 60s are not), so I guess that they do have a few more 20s. Damn I wish I had $300 to get a backup.

Hmm interesting that they're selling the 20gb for $300 when it was $200 before. Still - a bargain compared to what I originally paid, but still $100 more than I paid for my #2 empeg.

edit: nevermind - I just noticed "20gb" ... I guess I forgot 10gb units existed after I upgraded mine

Also - I followed the link ok, but could not find it by browsing their store.

No, the 20GB was never $200. The clearance prices were:

10GB $199
20GB $299
30GB $399
60GB $499

Did this link come from a bookmark? Either way, thanks for posting it even if they never appear and I have to fight to get my $350 back... It'll make me feel so much more secure with two empegs in my life, after having the rest of my stereo stolen a coupld weeks ago.

Yes, this was a bookmark. I had earmarked it when I bought my first unit. When I check order status it says shipment pending, not backordered so I hope they really still have a few.

I just checked and it says in stock for me too....but likewise I lack the requisite cash to blow on another one.

That's wierd, it only appears if you click NEXT then click PREVIOUS. Then the riocar magically appears on the top of the page.

It is listed in the Steals and Deals page (at least when I looked a few minutes ago). And I went ahead and put in my order for a second one. I was just about to order a second hard drive and decided that for about twice the price I can get a drive half the size (I was going to buy a 40GB drive), but I get a spare empeg unit to boot. The 20GB drive should be more than enough to fit the rest of my collection. And this way I won't have to worry about formatting the drive.

I went to the online store, and saw the item, ordered two, put in all my info and received an error processing my credit card. I called sonic blue directly with the 800 number and they said that no matter what the website says, we are all sold out. I asked him when this happened, and he said two weeks ago. I told him that I have heard that there were a few released just recently today, and he said no, and would let me order anything. Ugh!

If anybody actually ordered today and receives it, post here just so I know that they were actually in stock and not an old link that somehow got put back on the estore website.

I would try and find another credit card fast if I were you. They've appeared on the steals and deals page and they weren't earlier, so there must be some bit of truth to the rumor. When I ordered my first empeg it wouldn't take one of my (perfectly good) credit cards for the life of me but would take another just fine.

I tried two different credit cards, and even had my Dad try from his work with his CC and even a debit card. Same dang error:

My girlfriend has been getting the same error trying to order a Riot, no matter what CC we use. It's ridiculous... you'd think they'd WANT our money. It's been said a million times before, but whoever did their ecommerce stuff should be drawn and quartered. I haven't seen an ordering system that bad ever.

Okay, as posted earlier, I tried, wouldn't work, had my dad try, wouldn't work either. note that both of us had successfully ordered before in the past. I called my sister at work and had her order, and it went through.

YEAH!!!

So a guess is that they are not letting some repeat customers order again, maybe? Well, I'm glad that I'll have a backup now.

That's it!

They obviously do not want repeat business, because they know that anybody who actually had the perseverance to make it through their incompetent and warped e-commerce system once would only do so again for purposes of sabotage and destruction.

i tried ordering one but my credit card was refused. i called my credit card company and their system was down so that is why it was rejected. every 15 minutes i would try ordering one to see if the order would go through. well my credit card company is still down, and now i notice that riohome.com says that the units are "out of stock" thanks to them i missed out on a great deal, looks like i know one credit card i am canceling tomorrow!

I'm curious, what do you guys think will be the going price for, say, a 20GB unit in 6 months, assuming nothing similar and cheaper is available on the market? Be realistic...
