Hi All,

I've just installed my Empeg in my new car, and am using a second head unit to provide amplification.

Once I've set the volume level on the Empeg, I'd really like to be able to disable the rotary for volume +/-, but leave it enabled for all other uses.

I think it may be possible to do this with Hijack, but I'm wondering if anyone has tried this, or might know how to do it.

I think that the following would work, but I'm guessing that it will disable the knob completely, which is not what I would like:

[ir_translate]
knobleft.n=null
knobright.n=null

Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Andy.

There's a thread just a little further down in this exact forum, entitled Re-programming volume controls! which seems to be discussing a similar issue..

I only spotted that thread, after I'd posted my new one.

Thanks for pointing it out, Mark.

You don't need to do any IR translation to lock the volume in place.

There is a feature in the default version 2.0 software which allows you to lock the volume at a fixed point. This setting is remembered independently for home and car personalities, too. Quite useful.

Check out the menus, it's in there somewhere.

You are a star, Tony.

The option is under 'Settings -> Volume'.

That's just what is needed.

Andy.
