I don't want to get beat up too much for asking this question. I was just wondering how beta 10 is holding up? Being a former Neo35 owner even beta 7 is more stable then the Neo ever was, but I'm still curious nonetheless.

Well.. it's been released (to the alpha team) for a full 3 hours and I haven't heard of any problems so far.

Well, we only got Beta10 today, so I've only had it running for a little while. But it seems fine so far.

Jeez. Okay, okay.

I'm going through all the bugs I've reported in the last 30 days and marking them as either "fixed", "I don't care whether it's fixed or not", and "not fixed".

So far, the only ones in the last category are tiny little cosmetic things that most folks probably wouldn't even notice.

An example of a terrible awful egregious bug in Beta10 that hasn't been fixed yet: If you pause a song, and then pull/reapply the power, when it's done rebooting, the song will be paused but no "pause" icon will be on the screen. Yawn.

Haven't tried messing with the radio yet, we'll see how that goes tonight.

I am completely of the "it's ready when it's ready" school, so I will do my best to stay completely relaxed, but this is exciting!!

I ran 2.0B3 for a while so got a taste of what awaits. My tags are now all perfecto! I'm ready!

Rob, can you send me application to fill out for the alpha team? Or do I have to goto tryouts?

I hate to ask... does it have WMA support yet?

From what I have heard, the last few internal betas have had WMA support. So I would say, yes. If you had done a search you would have found this

I have a vague idea of who's on the alpha test list and yes Tony is one. I think Tony somehow slipped out of the clause that if they reveal their identity they are 'dealt with'.

To join this exclusive club you merely only have to prove your knowledge and experience with computers, the empeg player and know the secret handshake. I don't think they'd be taking any more applicants at this point. Unless there is someone with outstanding programming ability, a keen interest in development, willing to sacreifice large amounts of time in testing and stuff. eh mlord?

There isn't an application form, the selection process isn't democratic or fair in any way, and we don't need any more members at the moment - sorry

That isn't true - we selected people for all sorts of different reasons. For example, an audiophile with no programming expertise provides different feedback to a hardcore kernel hacker.

It's true about the handshake though.

Yeah, that's the hard part. You have to be double-jointed to do it.

In a few days I should upload beta 15 to the empeg guys. I downloaded it from someone on WinMX.

It's odd to see that one issue that I reported seems to have been "fixed" yet when all was said and done, ended up not looking like a bug at all: Fixed: Rio remote stops working after selecting shuffle. (#1639)

I played with this one for a couple of days it seemed very reproducible. Then, after replacing the battery on the remote, this never happened again.

Bruno

Oh, you didn't know that the newest beta software comes out before the programmers actually make it? It's the same principle that sees movies come out on video before they're made. [ob:Spaceballs]
