this topic at sounddomain.com changed to the RioCar from discussing Microsoft's next moves. These fools think that RioCar is not successful just because they have never heard of it.

Well they have a point - it's NOT successful by the standards of the products that they are discussing on there.
The mistake is in assuming that success equates to quality.

Hey, don't sweat it! Just bask in the glory that you are the only one on that forum that knows anything about the empeg. They are the ones missing out, not you.
It's kinda like when you get to that point where your friends or relatives will be talking about computer related topics, and you let them talk on without feeling you have to correct everything they are saying.

You are preaching to a crowd of ignorants. They confuse quantity and quality. They probaly think Windoze is a great OS just because it's popular with the masses...

Send them the link to that video of the Empeg 1 ( http://steve.nac.net/empeg/)
That will shut at least some of them up.

Same ignorance as slashdot. 'I havent seen it, it must be crap", "I can build one like it for less" (what about software?)
seen it all before. Leave them alone in their world.

I, too, was going to post a retort in their pathetic forum. After reading the comments above, I couldn't agree more, why waste valuble time on people who bask in ignorance. We know and enjoy what we have, and that's all that matters!

I certainly commend your enthusiasim. The RioCar is a very nice device. However I don't think that it is for everyone. I also had not heard of the RioCar until late Dec. when I found the special on the Sonic Blue Web site. Of course, I bought one. Anyway I can understand why others might not share your feelings for this device. It is quite different from main stream car audio. For those people that are not computer savvy, (and yes they do still exist), this device would make a nice door stop.

Havent really seen an MP3 player that doesnt require some computer saavy. You need to be able to rip, and download at a minimum no matter which one you're using.

Thanks Neutrino
I do agree that it isnt for everyone as well...but it certainly was the answer for me! It does take computer savvy to get the most out of this player but I think that most anyone into MP3 could figure it out. Maybe the player is before it's time? Who knows how it would have done with a little more refinement five years from now when digital music will be even more mainstream?

Havent really seen an MP3 player that doesnt require some computer saavy.
You haven't seen the Rio HSX-109 in action, then.
It literally requires no computer savvy at all. Plug it into your stereo, turn it on, and start feeding it discs.
Even for someone like me who knows a great deal about ripping and encoding, it's so easy it's intoxicating.

This has got to be my favorite...from WookieZ
>>Second thing is once again if it was so wonderful I shouldn't have to look for it, somebody somewhere would be boastin it's glory, and once again this hasn't happened.
Uh...so by this guys less that perfect brain process, unless it is mas marketed it isn't good? What a total lazy ass looser.
Oh..and in the same post...
>>oh and show me how Riocar can be hooked up to your home stereo, computer,
Got RCA cables anyone?! Hah...what a total dick. This guy is who marketing professionals wish the world was made of.
