I ordered 4 Rio's one being an extra for my home dock, but may go in a car one day. And it seems 2 of the dock's have a bend missing on the top edge of the dock.

Is this something that others have noticed? Something that was overlooked in the manufacturing process? Cause the dock's don't look right with this bend missing!

Mine and a friends came like this as well, and it dosen't allow the player to dock right. If you contact carsupport@riohome.com, they will probably send a new sled, then you just transplant the wiring harness to the new one.

I haven't seen mine show up yet, but I figure David has his hands full right now filling all the support requests.

I have the same problem with my new riocars. It looks like it might be possible to bend the top edge up. Hopefully someone from sonicblue will comment on this before I go ahead & bend it. Guys??

DAMMIT mine has that problem too how much of an issue is it? I really want to install mine Monday

My 10GB unit is like that. I have only had it in for a little bit and it does not seem to cause a problem. I need to go look but I think on mine the metal is not sticking out so it would not cause dock problems. Weird.

Tony pointed out that my sled had this "problem" but we went ahead with the install in my Durango (see Installation threads) and everything seems fine.

OK, It appears that the cage is cut correctly. I simply took some pump pliers and bent the edge up. Only advantage to doing it is that it looks better when mounted (can't see gap on top).

I notice in your photo that the entire sled itself is a little "twisted". Before mounting it, you should give it a gentle counter-twist to make sure it's straight when installed.

Well the dock is actually straight, I used my flat bed scanner to scan it. I guess it "bent" the image a bit.

Why do these things never get found until a year after we finished with that manufacturer? Their QA should have picked up on that right away (in fact that part will have gone through 3 QA inspections!).

Damn it - I assumed this was how it was meant to look.
I wish I had known about this before I got it installed - I very nearly shouted at the installer for bending it.
