Need to reload all mp3's and playlists. I've searched the FAQ's and BBS, can't find a fast way to purge the unit of everything, without selecting each playlist one at a time. Is it possible in Emplode, JEmplode or with HiJack via FTP/HTTP by chmod on hda?

Thanks,
Keil

Simple Way,
If you are using emplode (v2b7) you can select all the playlists in the main window and delete. Emplode will give you the option to delete the files as well as the playlists.

More complicated way,
Wipe the whole disc with drivebuilder. But you should bone up on the documentation before doing so.

Thanks. I'm using b7. I couldn't figure out how to select multiple playlists, Alt or Ctrl key?

You can't select multiple items in the LHS tree view. If you select the item labelled "Playlists", then the first-level playlists will appear in the RHS. Either drag-select all of them, or use Edit|Select All to select them all (Ctrl+A should work as well).

Then, once they're all selected, just press Delete. Say yes to the "Delete N item(s)" question, and then ensure that the checkbox is checked on the next dialog. Then hit "Yes to All"

To confirm that everything got deleted, go to the "All Tracks" view. There should be nothing in it.

Quicker than this, if you're competent with a shell prompt (and have a developer version loaded), is to delete the content of /drive0/fids and /drive1/fids. Then delete /empeg/var/database, playlists and tags.

Then, when you rebuild the database, there'll be nothing in it.

Use the "main window" of emplode. Just like windows explorer, you cannot make multiple selections in the "tree view" pane

Thanks for the help. Roger, I used your method at the shell...worked great. I'd like be able to ssh/telnet the shell in the future. My Linux Router has a ssh package that's about 115k. Probably small enough for flash. I don't know enough about Empeg's layout yet to know if packages can be installed to disk or only flash. For now, serial shell is fine.
