I don't know how popular this feature would be but i know that i personnaly would love this feature.

Could you have the empeg pipe some tracks to a rio600/800 via emplode and your computer as we know you have been working with downloading to rio handhelds from the HSX.

My empeg lives on the network at home and would be cool to have this done in a nice easy step instead of having to use two programs

On the HSX, it works like this: You plug the Rio600 directly into the HSX and use its front panel to put the songs onto the Rio600.

Emplode does not talk to the Rio600, it doesn't know how to speak that protocol. The HSX has an implementation of it on board, in other words, the HSX can talk to the 600, but it's not in emplode.

The type of USB port on the empeg is not the kind where you can plug the Rio 600/800 into it (it's only a slave port), so even if they did port that software from the HSX to the empeg, it wouldn't work.

I know i don't have an HSX yet and if i have it wouldn't be traveling with me to a ship but the empeg does

I would just like a kind of electronic pipe from the empeg to the hand held via the computer i don't know how easy it would be i would just love it as a feature.

The other aspect of this proposition is you've probably encoded at a higher bit rate for the empeg than you would have for the 600/800. Capacity on the empeg is not an issue where as you'd be stuck with a max of 384M on the 800 extreme.

The HSX automatically accounts for this through internal magic (no not transcoding).
