The volume button on my Mark II doesn't seem to turn the dial anymore. Basically its broken. Anyone know where I can get another one, or if I could just contact Empeg or Rio and ask them for one?

I'm a new member to these boards, but have been reading them for a while now. Some great stuff going on here!

Greetings!

If this is an empeg Mark 2 (sticker from empeg), there is a known bug in the knob sliding on the shaft. You can search the board for "loose knob", but you basically contact support, and they will send you a new one with a rubber ring that will fix the problem. (The shaft is round, and the knob can slip over time, especially in a warm environment.)

If this is for a riocar Mark 2a (sticker from Rio), this is a new problem to me. Contact support.

If it's an Empeg MarkII, I know the early ones had faulty knobs that would start slipping after a while. Contact empeg or rio about it. They should send a redesigned knob.

Wow. Quick response! This board is great.
Yeah it is an early one, before the Rio takeover... (It came with a Empeg stick). So I will try to contact them. Thanks for the advice!

Alternatively, if you don't want to wait... put a tiny (pinhead-sized) drop of glue on the shaft and let it dry. This will create a small "bump" that, when you put the knob back on, will keep the knob from slipping. (DON'T put the knob back on until after the glue has dried!)

The Mk2a can't have this problem since the knob is not round. It's shaped like this: |) (you gotta love Ansi art ), so there is no way the knob can loose it's grip.

Hahaha... the last 4 or 5 entries i've read have been that exact line. Tony's stuck in the groove!

Any chance we'll be getting a search for THE FAQ? ctrl-f ing on each page works, but an overall search would be nice.

(PS... Thanks again Tony, i've been reading through the entire FAQ today, and there's tons of little gems in there that i'd either forgotten or that were added. Nice work)

I'll look into implementing a search for the FAQ, should be pretty easy. No estimates on a completition though.

Why not a search for the entire Riocar.org site? That way, if an answer is in the developer section or whatever, they'll see it.

When I implement a search, it will allow searches of the relevant parts of the site like the FAQ, Developer info and such. PHPNuke's built in search is just for the stories, so it's rather pointless on Riocar.org.
