Hi all!

I'm trying to get an RSS feed on my Mixes page, which is now at:

http://mabula.tangram.dnsalias.net/mixes/

The old URLs will work, but will redirect there. When I finally update my main site to use the new Django code, I will make sure the above URL points to the main site. So URIs will be preserved in accordance with the W3 consortium's principles laugh

The main news is that I've got a new mix coming up which will blow away your old, puny music players on inferior devices. It's EIGHT HOURS twenty minutes long, and features a large selection of relatively current trance and psy-trance. It's so big the Android player gives up after two and a bit hours. It's so big I need to render it into two separate files and splice them together in Audacity, because the WAV file would be over 4GB in size. If you've ever found yourself saying "great Altman himself, I wish I had a mix for that drive four states away" or "these puny three hour PaulWay mixes are over too quickly", this will be the mix for you laugh

I've also got a couple of new mixes that I still haven't put on the site; a new mix in the style of "Foot On The Gas" that goes from 75BPM to 175BPM in one smooth, continuous journey, and another called "Delusions of Genre" which blends seamlessly between techno, trance, psy trance and other stuff that I don't know a convenient label for. I'll have them up soon.

Anyway, hope you enjoy the mixes! Feedback as ever is appreciated, both to paulway@mabula.net and on here.

Have fun,

Paul

Very nice. I'll aim my NAS at the RSS feed when it's ready, and it will continue to provide seeding services for your music.

Thank you for your continued work on releasing these. It's becoming a quite impressive collection, and looking forward to the 8 hour epic mix. May need to find a suitably long motorcycle ride to pair with it smile

Really enjoying track 69, Good Music. I feel this is going to be a great post-wedding late night drive home favourite smile

Cheers

Cris

Thanks Cris!

Thanks drakino! I haven't thought of trying to provide an RSS feed of just the torrents - would that make sense for you? You could just scrape the main page, but would it make more sense to have a page that just lists the torrent files?

Have fun,

Paul

I thought the torrent client on my NAS could pull torrents out of an RSS feed. Seems it can't, so for now I'll just add the new files manually.

Long term I may set up a page scraper for it. On the personal projects list is a rethink of my general NAS strategy. May be redoing it sometime before the end of the year.

And if all goes well with a rollout here in Seattle, the NAS will be seeding on either a 100 or 1000mbit upload pipe smile

OK, I've uploaded some more mixes:

01 - The 2013 rework of the original Infinity Mix

71 - Delusions of Genre - does it matter what the difference between hard trance and slow goa is?

More once I get that silly 80 character limit fixed...

Yep, thanks to Django South migrations, we now have:

72 - Delta V - one CD length mix to go from 75BPM to 175BPM.

And finally I've uploaded the track list for:

63 - Through the Long Nights - over eight hours in one mix!

I'm still fixing the bugs in my compressed file creation script, so you'll have to wait a little longer for that.

Also, please take down your current copies of mixes 65 and 66, since I'm going to reissue them.

Have fun,

Paul

New files added, and 65, 66 both pulled.

I've got a lot of fun code merges today to handle, think I'll put on one of the newer mixes to listen to smile

Figure it's worth a bump, Paul is now up to 79 mixes. Most of these are also seeding from my NAS, soon to be on a gigabit connection.
