Anyone know of a way to get a notification in some form when a match to a search term comes up? I want to know when a swing set gets posted in my region.

I tried one android app and it didn't really find everything. An android app would be nice but something that sent an email would work too. Craigslist mobile is the app I tried.

I wish I could suggest something, but I lost the app I found once.

At one time I was looking for something (can't remember what), and I found a fantastic Android app that did exactly what you're talking about and did it well. I uninstalled it for whatever reason, and a year later I tried to find it again and it seems to have completely disappeared. I've tried a few others but they all seem like junk. I'll see if I can find the good one again...

Isn't it in your app list on the market? Mine seems like it shows every app I hace installed on every device even if they have been uninstalled.

Works a treat! Set each search parameter, as well as the option to include areas based on miles from zip. Set your update frequency in the settings.

The link works for me. I also think that's the app I was using when I first looked for this kind of thing. I was looking for cat trees a while back, and I'd get a notice every time someone posted one. It works pretty well, actually. I'll have to install that again...

You can copy the RSS link you get when you do a search on Craiglist then subscribe to that in Google Reader. If you want a text message or something I'm sure there's an RSS reader out there somewhere that will notify you.

Can anyone you recommend an iOS app that will do the alerts?

And while you're at it, one for Android too Sadly, it looks like the app that we were talking about for the last several posts is not being developed anymore, the website is borked, and it doesn't really work anymore. I think you can still set up an alert, but you can't do searches to show you what your alerts will be showing you, which means you're sort of using the app blind.

And yes, I still hate Craigslist, but sometimes you can get good deals, and if I'm one of the good actors on the buyer's side, it's easier than being a seller.

Dang that went fast! The website still worked when I posted that.

I must have the apk around here somewhere, if anyone wants it. I don't have any issues with the function of the app itself. All I have ever done with it is set up recurring searches. This functions without a problem.
I'm not too concerned about CL messaging me about something for sale.
The flexible schedule that the app has works well enough for me.
