Hi, I am new, and came across these empeg units. I read that they can handle GPS? How difficult is this, and, when set up, does it function as well as other units (aka Blaupunkt TravelRoute)

We'd all like to know where you "read" that.

There is at least one third-party GPS project under development (by Kim Salo), but it has not been released and is only being developed in his spare time.

You will probably be better served by a dedicated GPS system with a large screen. The empeg/Rio car player is meant to store/play music (your entire CD collection all at once, in fact), and it excels at that job.
