Just wanted to say thank you again for Hijack. Its web interface feature just saved me a FSCK.

I was synching via ethernet in the background when I accidentally hit the "connect" thingy on my VPN, having forgotten I was in the middle of a synch. Of course, emplode crashed because the network connection to the player had just gone poof.

Normally that would cause me to have to FSCK the drive later on. But I remembered that I could use the web interface commands to set the drive RO. I did that, the player responded, and I was able to synch again without problems. No having to dig out serial cables.

Heh. You're right.

I think that if Emplode vanishes during a sync, the player itself will remount the filesystems read-only after a certain delay. Might be quite a big delay, though.
