iPod touch safari file size limit?

so i made this impulse buy since i have a new job starting tuesday...
When i use the builtin safari browser to look at my gallery pages at my web site, it works fine except for it does not play the quicktime movies or show the largest size photos. Does the web browser in these things have a file size limit?
Uncle google isn't helping me so far.

My one year contract with Microsoft was up. There is a thing where I am not allowed to work there for 100 days after that contract. So I have to find either another temp job at the same company, or find permanent work outside microsoft. This happens to be a six month temp job with the option to go permanent. So if it doesnt go permanent, at least I can go back to microsoft for another one year contract and repeat the cycle. I would prefer permanent with this new company because it's more convenient geographically.

Yup. It does. People have complained about this on the macrumors forum.

Hm. /me considers hacking his brand-new ipod...
I'm surprised I couldn't find this by googling. Do you have any links to specific discussions on the topic of the file size limit? With more hard data on it?

It only has a limited cache available and doesn't support RTSP streaming for movies. I'll have to see if I can find where the thread was. Its annoying to search macrumors.

Web iPod touch jailbreak
1. Make sure you're using firmware 1.1.1
2. Set up WiFi
3. Go to dn.vc/jb
4. Wait
5. Run Installer and install Sources->Community Sources and System->BSD Subsystem
You'll probably want to enable SSH, go in and change the root password as well from the default of alpine.

This makes perfect sense based on what I've seen the unit do. Thanks.
Also, there's another limit I found: h.264 encoded movies have an X/Y resolution limitation of something like 320x240. Bigger than that and it'll refuse to play them.

My iPhone plays 640x480 H.264 files just fine from the iTunes store. Can't imagine the iPod Touch would be any different.
The key limitation is likely in bitrate.

Size Movies Appropriately
In landscape orientation, the iPhone screen is 480 x 320 pixels. Users can easily switch the view mode between scaled-to-fit (letterboxed) and full-screen (centered and cropped). You should use a size that preserves the aspect ratio of your content and fits within a 480 x 360 rectangle. 480 x 360 is a good choice for 4:3 aspect ratio content as it will keep the video sharp in full-screen view mode.
Don’t Let Bit Rate Stall Your Movie
When viewing media over the network, bit rate makes a crucial difference to the playback experience. If the network cannot keep up with the media bit rate, playback stalls.
Use Supported Movie Formats
The following movie formats are supported:
H.264 Baseline Profile Level 3.0 video, up to 640 x 480 at 30 fps. Note that B frames are not supported in the Baseline profile.
MPEG-4 Part 2 video (Simple Profile)
AAC-LC audio, up to 48 kHz
.mov, .mp4, .m4v, .3gp file formats
Any movies or audio files that can play on an iPod.
