The presentation of the equipment and money organised by the fund and other donations will be at Rob's firework party on Saturday, 3 November. It's timed to roughly occur 15 minutes before the fireworks that evening.

Food goes from 8PM, fireworks 10PM. I would suggest that if you want to attend, you feed yourselves first so it's not obvious that there's a lot of empeggers about the place: my suggestion would be for you to turn up for the drinks and party from about 9PM onwards, with the presentation being 9:30 - 9:45. It's going to be somewhat low-key, but will be a surprise: the intention is NOT to embarrass Rob, but to let him know he has a lot of friends who think a lot of him.

So if you get the chance to come, be there!

With less than 24 hours still to go, it's all getting a bit exciting - people are already turning up, and the Secret Conspirator's Curry Meal has successfully concluded, with plans laid for tomorrow's party surprise. Will try to keep you all posted! Watch this space.......

The presentation has landed, and it was a fantastic success. Right up to the last minute, Rob had absolutely no idea what was happening, and was completely taken by surprise. His reaction was one of disbelief and happiness. I must extend my thanks and respect to everyone who worked so hard to make all this happen for a very good friend of mine. It took some incredibly hard effort and not a little luck to pull it off, but it went better than we could ever have hoped. There has been a huge amount of frantic running around and total lying going on today to keep Rob out of his own house while a HUGE crate was brought in and hidden in the garden. It was rather amusing that his first reaction after the reality of what was happening had sunk in was to ask "How the hell did you even get that thing in here?"

Rob himself will post soon, to give his side of the story, and Rob S will most likely do the same. It might be time to unhide this section so Rob can see it

Pictures follow.

Now that is a flight case!

I was all psyched and ready to go wearing my (awesome) Times Square Lighting T-Shirt. But in the evening I was at my aunts house with my head in her consumer unit wiring some emergency power to her heating by candlelight. So it turned out to be impossible in the end.

Glad you all had a great time though, and was good to see some of you guys at dinner on Friday!

Thanks for the pictures Patrick!

I'm sorry I couldn't be there on the night, but the curry was really good

As one of the Secret Conspirator's could I just publicly thank Jenny Reynolds at freightquote.com who helped us out no end in getting the crate to Rob. I would recommend their service to anyone needing handling of international shipments, for a logistics company they keep to their word which is a rare thing in their business.

Thanks to my fellow Secret Conspirator's for putting up with my panic, worry and stupid customs forms

Glad to hear Rob V was bowled over

Cheers

Cris.

It really went incredibly well and the fireworks show directly after the reveal was the perfect compliment.

Even after a couple BBS members showed up to the party, Rob still had no clue what was going on. He didn't even catch on while Rob S was giving his speech. The surprise was pulled off to perfection.

I think it's important to thank Cris for keeping on top of the shipment. We were operating on a very tight schedule, and Cris' diligence really helped the shipment arrive on-time. Unbelievably, the shipment was only picked up on October 9th and hit its destination across the Atlantic door-to-door this past Tuesday. I have no doubt in my mind this would not have happened if not for Cris. Bravo, sir!
