Hi.

Any suggestions on a framegrabber for capturing 800x600 RGB VGA output? I know there are a number on the market, such as this and this. The former is more what I need, although I can't find prices for it or any equivalents, which leads me to believe I need to ask, and therefore can't afford it

I wouldn't be surprised if you could make one

I may be missing something, but don't older MPEG encoder cards and capture cards have BNC inputs? Meaning you could split the VGA signal into the BNC components and plug them into it. I know my local computer parts "recycler" has whole stacks of these capture cards with BNC inputs.

No experience with them here, but a USB based solution might prove wise in the long run:

Epiphan VGA2USB -- £169.95 (or US$299.95)

Cheers
