Senior Hardware Engineer

Main Responsibilities
The engineer will be responsible for systems design, schematic design and PCB layout for digital audio and control products. The engineer will lead hardware development activities within Akai Digital but will also be required to collaborate effectively with other engineering organisations at various global locations. The engineer will be closely involved with the product development cycle from concept to mass production, and will have responsibility for delivering and adhering to the hardware schedule. The engineer will be expected to keep abreast of technical advances and share their knowledge throughout the organisation.
Essential Skills & Experience
Design of microcontroller, microprocessor and analogue systems.
Manufacturing process, ideally China/Taiwan contract manufacturing.
Theoretical and practical skills with EMC compliancy and counter measures.
PCB layout including multilayer boards with BGA components.
PADS or similar CAD packages.
Resource management abilities including estimating and maintenance of hardware development schedules.
Able to work closely with a software team, and effectively within a global engineering organisation.
Able to produce documentation to allow others (particularly CMs) to understand and test products.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Design for small and medium scale embedded applications.
Developing with programmable logic systems.
Professional audio applications.
USB appliances.
