I personally believe the video thread has degenerated into just a random spattering of rubbish now. Early on, it had a few excellent links, but now..
Still photos are a much dicier proposition. There's just too many bad pictures out there, and empegbbs.com is not dpreview.com, which is where many of us would rather see all of the cat and potato photos posted.
So how about some guidelines here? I propose the photos must involve empegbbs people, either as the shooters, or as the subjects or background.

1 turbine, 2 screws? Is that possible? I absolutely *love* that big stuff. It's the whole reason I became a mechanical engineer.
I hope it isn't uncouth to ask, but is there any chance I could get a real engineer's tour of that ship????? Please???
Cool stuff!

I have linked this picture on the bbs before, but it is one I am unabashedly proud of, so here it is again. And thanks again to JBjorgen for hosting it! (It's too big to actually place on the bbs) tanstaafl.

And so you should be, that is a great picture Night time photography is something I am really interestd in, but I am having problems, even with a tripod getting the images as sharp as that, what is your secret?
Edit - Attached is a recent attempt at night time wildlife, looks ok when shrunk and sharpened, but not good enough to print, spider was about 2cm, so not bad I don't think?
Cheers
Cris.

The "secret" is long exposure at small aperture to get depth of field.
This shot was about a 10-second exposure, probably around f8, with the camera sitting on a rock wall with the lens propped into position with a few pebbles. Then I used the camera's self-timer to actually trigger the exposure, as physically pressing the shitter release button would have introduced vibration.
Somewhat to my surprise, I guessed right on the exposure on only the third attempt.
