Well, two questions really...

1) Is is possible to export table and field properties that are listed on the 'General' tab when in table 'Design View'.

Specifically if I had, for example, two tables A and B, each with two field definitions how would I get a table with folowing information (not necessarily in the format shown - just so long as the properties data is there):

Table:A Field:1 Data Type:Text Field Size:255
Table:A Field:2 Data Type:Number Field Size:Integer
Table:B Field:1 Data Type:Number Field Size:Single
Table:B Field:2 Data Type:Text Field Size:2

(Note: If I had the complete properties listed out, that would be fine too)

2) If so, how?

I'm trying to document some custom software which relies on table queries (it's an embedded database application for a machine tool), and I want to define the data structure(s) in an appendix to this document, since (obvs.) data type has effects on subsequent handling/processing.

In Access 97 it's under Tools -> Analyze -> Documenter.

I think it's in pretty much the same place under Access 2003.

Select the tables you want to Document. Then click on the Options... button and uncheck all the crap that you don't want to print.

You := The Man

Thank you. I had menu poked for about an hour without finding that, and the Access help search had turned nothing up.

I'm cursed to have to work in Access on a daily basis. Glad I could help.
