I've installed OpenVPN on a Debian box using Shorewall, with connections coming from Windows hosts. I can connect and authenticate but no traffic will route. After some hours of playing I'm not sure why - it looks like a firewall and/or routing problem. Are there any networking experts out there that might be able to help? I'm happy to pay for some consultancy.

Thanks

Rob

Just in case you missed it, there is this info from the original Shorewall author.

It sounds like fun Rob, I've done a bit of VPN stuff myself, although purely for home, I don't think I'd dare ask for money to help, although Saturday is currently free.

I followed that HowTo pretty much to the letter, except that I'm not running ShoreWall on the clients (but Windows firewall is disabled for the tunnel). I have a rule to route from the VPN to the local network but nonetheless Shorewall appears to be throwing out all such traffic.

Thanks Andy, your help would have been much appreciated, but I have a friend visiting this weekend and I suspect that VPN fixing wouldn't go down that well (no accounting for taste).
