OK.

I was trying to use the builder image 2 to format and prepare my empeg, and i am having some problems with it. It goes through the formats ok, and then it starts the stress tests.

I noticed in TFabris's post that he said after waiting a decent amount of time, you can cancel the stress test... well here is my prob(s):

When the empeg boots it says "Builder Image, Drive(s) already appear to be built.

You can then continue anyway, or skip to shell. I have tried both with no luck.

The farthest i can get with the builder image is the stress test, which i let run about 2.5 hours.

How do i quit the stress test?

What am i doing wrong here? I know this is probably some serious newbie stuff, and i appreciate the help. Yo should know that beyond navigation, file copy and a few other basics, i do NOT know unix/linux in any way shape or form.

Thanks guys, i am getting really annoyed over here

The stress test runs forever - you leave it as long as you want, then power down and load a software release upgrade file in the normal way.

I had the same confusion when I did it, I didn't know that I just needed to power down to quit the stress test.

I thought I put that information in the FAQ entry. I'll go double-check it now.

i did power down, a few times, MULTIPLE times, liek 20.

Every time i boot it again, it goe sinto teh same loop

show logo
builder image
disk(s) appear to be built already, press return to go ahead anyway, or anything else to goto shell.

This is what i get now every time i bot the empeg.

Yes, thats exactly what it should do - the unit is not in a usable state after soak testing, the disks are merely built with a filesystem. You now have to load a software release, preferably 1.02.

Yeah, emplode won't see it if it isn't running any software! The upgrade tool is independent of emplode (although it can be launched from the emplode Tools menu if you want) and can be used to load software onto an entirely blank unit.

What exactly have you done to the player, by the way? Added a new disk or completely replaced one?
