Hi there,
I want to remap the tel mute signal to switch it to the aux in...so that the sound come throught the speakers. I know that you can do it in hijack, I just cant find the thread that said how. Can anyone remember how to do it?
Anyway, I think I might have just broken a record for the bbs. I've been a member and regular viewer from it's inception and this is my first post!
Thanks in advance

Mark beat me to it. Funny though. That's actually your 9th post, but your first one was also about phone mute, 4 years ago! =]

Heh, but 4 years ago, I don't think Hijack existed, or at least it didn't have that feature.

Hey, thanks for the prompt replies. Goes to show what my memory is like! I'll give it a go when I get home.
Loren, I've now got my empeg in the Scooby but the installers cocked it up, so I'm getting another fascia surround and going to re-do it

Another facia surround ? ? Those are like 80 bucks! I hope you didn't have to pay for it!

Hello

I have two questions I hope you can answer; 1/ does the telephone mute require enabling as mine is not responding to a GND? and 2/ can the output of the mp3 audio be attenuated instead of muted?

Sw is v2.0 hijack (aging hijack)

Yes, I think you control whether it's enabled by using the "Configure Player" screen in Emplode.

It can be attenuated, but as far as I know you're not going to get it to mix the mp3 sound under the aux in.

You can map the mute high/low signals to do anything you want them to do via Hijack's button remapping. Somebody here has used this in the past. Try the "Search->Google" to look for that.

Cheers

You basically gave the required info in the second post of this thread I think Mark.

Code:
[hijack]
extmute_on=Hush
extmute_off=Hush

should work I think however there is potential for it to get out of sync if the player isn't running when extmute goes active. Alternatively some kind of "Volume+, Volume+, Volume+, Volume+, Volume+" (and appropriate Volume- codes) sequence would work although it would suffer the same sync issues possibly.

As for actually getting the line to work, from memory it will default to the low/GND state i.e. applying GND won't do anything - you need to apply +12V to see anything. Have you seen this?
