I got Rioplay and jreceiver playing flac files OK but when i tried an OGG file it hung. Are there any special requirements when encoding to OGG? Does it need tags?
I used 'oggenc infile.wav -q 6' to generate the OGG file.

thanks,

bill

From what I understand, your ogg encoder needs to be a newer one. If you've got an older version, the format and functionality wasn't solidified.

This is the OGG version

OggEnc v1.0 (libvorbis 1.0)
(c) 2000-2002 Michael Smith <msmith@labyrinth.net.au>

Does anyone have a small OGG file that they know works with Jreceiver and Rioplay that i could use for test purposes?

Well, that OGG file worked OK (i'm using W2K, jreceiver 0.2.3, Rioplay 0.2.9alpha2). That file was encoded with OGG version 1.0 RC3.
I had used the latest OGG version from the website which just shows version 1.0. (maybe this isn't the latest version?)

Looks like i need to play around some more at the weekend to see if its Jreceiver/Rioplay or the OGG version that has a problem.

Thanks for the file.
