I now have 2GB of RAM installed and running OK (after having to RMA 3 out of 4 sticks of it
). I have a task called DdsSchedNT.exe that is using 650megs of memory. I know it's a normal system task but I can't find any info via google or MSKB as to what it is or why it would use so much memory. So... do you know why?
Also why isn't all of my shiny new RAM being used for cache? According to performance under NT Task Manager I only have 40megs of physical memory allocated to file cache but over 1gig free. I was hoping this new RAM would take some load off the drives and be all used as cache (ala Linux). Does NT4 not do this?
