I was in a hardware store in Paris yesterday and ran across this little goody. Probably not on the list to be exported to the US any time soon...

I think it's german... Ass (german) = ace (engl), but ass (engl) = Arsch (german)
It's one of them you have to pay attention when talking in a foreign language...

cheers, Thomas

The food ones are similar. If you get any of the Graham Norton shows you'll see him show examples quite often. He claims they are sent in by viewers but the show has repeatedly ripped off content and ideas from websites (usually just removing logos) so who knows!

There's quite a good list of foos on this site

Place names are also funny here are some UK examples.

If joints are the spaces between ceramic tiles, yes...
otherwise not at least it doesn't look so.

Heres another unfortunate address.
Happens to be in the same vicinity as the address of a famous groundhog what sez he can predict the seasons.

Hey, Pennsylvania has more than just Gobbler's Knob... We've got all sorts of funny town names. Heck, just the Lancaster area (PA Dutch / Amish country) has Bird-in-Hand, Intercourse and Blue Ball, just to name some of the more amusing ones. There's even another "Blue Ball, Pennsylvania" upstate somewhere, which leaves me to think that the founders of our wonderful state had difficulties finishing what they started.

You're thinking of "Gobbler's Knob" which is 2 miles from Punxsuntawney.

Yeah, I always got a good laugh out of that one. Who says the Amish are squares?

I drive through (or very near) Intercourse and Paradise on my way to the shopping outlets in Lancaster. Of course there's a new town name for every square foot out there, it seems.

In NC near Greensboro you can start at Horneytown then go US311 to High Point and then take NC62 to finally wind up at Climax...

I drive by Big Bone Lick SP every time I go to the Red River Gorge.

At the Red, there is a trail that leads along a ridge called "Pinch-em Tight Ridge". Mark Lord and I actually visited a geocache along that ridge after the Cinci meet last year.

...and if you are lucky you can have pizza in the middle of Intercourse, without causing offence...

(despite Googling I can't find a pizza place that is actually IN Intercourse, but who claims to have eaten pizza there and rolls this joke out for re-use every six months)
