Wow, I'd love to have a view like on the drive to work every day - snow or no snow!
Grass fields, plouged fields and more fields and then a road full of "rest homes for the elderly" gets a bit boring!

Of course, here around DC we have truly unseasonable weather. It's nearly 70 outside! On January 4th!! What the hell? We had a cold, humid summer and a warm, humid winter! Screw global warming, mother nature is just going insane.

It's been mid to high 70's all this past week. And high humidity to boot so it feels like it is 80. I hate Florida, our seasons are "warm", "hot", and "I should have put deoderent on my balls".
That's ok though, I'm hitting the slopes in colorodo for spring break. I'll see some snow then (even though most of it will probably be fake.)
Oh, and that is an incredibly nice picture. Good job and thanks for sharing.

I'm still planning on putting the Ski empeg Meet togther, right now sometime in March at Breckenridge. Most likely I will try to set it up for Friday-Saturday.
Do you know what dates you will be here?

Middle of Woodmen Road, near the Union Blvd. intersection. Northeastern part of Colorado Springs.
Oh, and to put things in perspective, I was probably at an elevation of 6,700 ft. The top of Pikes Peak (large peak in the middle) is 14,410 ft. As the crow flys, the peak is about 15 miles from where I was standing.

March 22-26th is my spring break, so middle of that week. I don't have the exact itenarary (sp?) with me right now. I'll be at Copper Mountian. (The trip is already well planed out.) I'd love to come, but I won't have any transportation.

Yeah, that's the kind of weather we're having, but we're half-way up the coast!! It's supposed to be, at most, high 50s this time of year, mid 40's I would think on average. Instead, I'm keeping my windows wide open tonight!

You know those summer nights when you go outside, your glad you're wearing shorts, and the air is so humid you could drink it? We are having that right now.
I mean it's usualy warm during the winter, this is Florida. Usualy we have 50's-60's during the day, but then at night it drops to30's-40's. (The temp drop is usualy very sudden and extream.) But it's hot out at night!
I was up there for Christmas. It seemed fairly cool-cold most of the time (by VA not FL standards. I grew up there, I do have an idea of what cold weather is like.) I take it things have changed in the week or so since.
I don't pay any attention to weather reporting. Do any of you know why it is so warm right now?

I'm still shocked by how many of us there seem to be here in Colorado. Ok, maybe it's only 3 or 4, but that seems like a lot to me....

3 or 4? Empeg owners or population in total?

Well, I know of 4 other active empeg users in Colorado Springs, though they get most of the empeg information from me. Silvafox is one of them, but he really dosen't post all that much.
All 4 own an empeg after seeing mine. And I guess the same could be said for Xanatos, since he drove down to see mine before buying.

The funny thing is, before this snow hit, it was in the 60s (at least here in the Denver area). You gotta love the Colorado weather, although today it is frigid. The high is supposed to be 18! There are quite a few Colorado empeggers. At least enough to damage a pickup truck.

The funny thing is, before this snow hit, it was in the 60s Oh that definitely happens in VA, too, though mostly in the area I went to college. I remember one year in which there was a day that people were out tanning, then the next day we had 4 inches of snow on the ground!
Crazy tidewater area...

Errr....there are people who DON'T have an empeg? What the hell do they do for music?
Must have to use CDs, huh? Or one of those old things that turns the wheels on those wierd plastic boxes with the tape stuff inside...

I have seen temperature shifts in excess of 80 degrees (F) in perhaps 10 hours here in Fairbanks, Alaska.
It's known as a Chinook (I think in Europe it's known as a Foehn.) No, a Foehn is different. A Chiook works like this.

You think you have it bad... I'm just outside of Seattle and we have a major Winter Storm Warning going on. Yep... we're scheduled to have 3 to 6 INCHES of snow tonight...
... the whole area is going to be brought to it's knees! It's all over the news.

I'd kill or seriously dismember someone to have snow right now. It's averaging 35C at the moment, with about a bazillion percent humidity. It was so humid yesterday, my very average car aircon was blowing condensation!

I thought that road looked unfamiliar; I've been hopelessly lost on it, down from Boulder to look for a well-hidden business, more than once....
Can I ski Breck with you guys even if I don't have an empeg/RioCar?

Umm, no. In fact, I think we will buy the mountain for the day, to keep all the non empeg people out
Yes, your more then welcome to join us. I'll be picking solid dates in the next two weeks and posting a signup form on riocar.org.
