I miss having a percentage or a time remaining indicator
while listening to BIG (77MB) mp3 files.
Would like to see an option for time remaining, percentage,
and bit rate (160Kb)

Actually I had not put my finger on it yet, but reading it here it dawns to me, this is indeed something I miss too.

Having a "time remaining" indicator is a common request.

They can't do this with the current XAudio decoding engine. However, 1.1 will be implementing a new engine which should allow this. I believe it's planned.

Heh, I'd be happy with working fast forward in rewind for VBR mp3s...

This is in 1.1, I'm not sure where the bounds are of accelleration, but it was done to make very long files easier to move through. VBR is pretty much sorted in 1.1 too.

Yah, its been flogged before, and I understand the 1.1 engine might support it, but here is a concrete place that we can all imagine a progress indicator:

The divider line in "Track" view mode. Have a piece of that (3-5 pixels) in brighter pixels that moves left to right, like the slider in WinAmp.

Getting further ahead of reality, make it blink when scanning within the track...etc.

How about the line appears at the bottom of the screen when ff or rw is pressed?

Also, a nifty trick from a Roland reverb is you press and hold the direction (eg. ff) and then press and hold the opposite button (rw) to make the increment larger.

These kind of front panel shortcuts would give a whole range of possibilities
