David is no longer the "empeg support guy" though he pops in on the BBS from time to time. I've seen him answer support questions in an unofficial capacity when he knows the answer, but the semi-official contact for support these days is Rob Schofield (schofiel) though he has been swamped recently.

My empeg got stolen. I don't have the SN, but I think they may have it because I sent it in to support last year. I'll try to contact Rob then.

Be sure to read this annoucement about support. Sorry about your loss, man. Getting your empeg stolen is one thing, but everything in your house? I can imagine what that must feel like. Was it all insured?

Whoa!

We're all sorry about your personal issues, but I'm sure Tony was just saying that it might be a while before you can get to new support cases.

If that's no longer the case, please let us know.

I think the word "swamped" could describe (kindly) your ability to respond to customer support stuff during a bad divorce... :-)

I don't think he meant you any disrespect Rob!

That is unfair. He is going through a rather painful divorce and is not in the best of condition at the moment. Rob - I am sorry to hear about your situation. Best wishes. If there is anything I can do to help, let me know.

Rob is extremely talented and has performed a large number of repairs in the past. He also hosted the European empeg meets, was trained by the Cambridge folks and purchased their spare parts to provide continued support after it was no longer possible for the empeg folks to do so. He is extremely qualified to perform any repairs on the player. To judge him by these posts is truly a disservice.

Yeah, Russ, you haven't been around very long. Rob is a true friend. He's like family to us. It hurts us all to see him going through a hard time.

When he's ready to service a player, he does the job right. More than right, he's a miracle worker.

Well I am judging him from my new view. I am new here and seeing these posts are just terrible. I am unaware of whats going on with him. I appologize if anything is taken the wrong way. Sorry. I understand how hard it can be to go through a devorce. My brother had to recently go through one and it took alot out of him as well.

Please ignore my post Rob. I was unaware as I said before.

I don't really post much, only when I have something worthwhile to say. This is one of those times. I have been around this board first as a lurker then as a member since it's inception. I have never met such a wonderful bunch of folk in my life. If you are going to be a member of this board remember this one rule. NO FLAMING!!!!!!!! You are new so you may not be aware of how things go on this forum. Number one rule is no flaming. Everyone here has legitimately contributed very good things to this forum. Please remember that before you post like that again. I am by no means an "Old Hand" or anything but I have read every post on this board since day one and that has always been the unwritten rule. Kicking anyone while they are down is a no no. This again is the best communiy on the net, bar none. I want to keep it that way just as I'm sure most every other member feels the same. And after some life altering experiences that I've endured, I think it is time that I thank Rob and every member of this board for there contributions to this community. It is truely one of a kind and the knowledge I've gained by reading the posts here is priceless. Once again Thank You all and have a Happy Holiday Season.

Rob did an excellent job with my player. It's the best support I've had on any product.

Late as usual, but none the less sincere, sorry to finally hear what your bad news is .
Any of the people I've been in contact with in this group speak of it being the highpoint of 2003, and that's largely down to you Rob, and it's well worth being proud of.
- hang in and get it together, I'm sure we're all behind you.

Rob is one of the finest persons i've ever met, although i know him only from the BBS and 2 empeg-meets.

Rob, it hurts a lot to see you in such a condition. But i think i can imagine how you feel. I have had hard times, too, when i too often drunk too much alcohol.
It helps, but only for a short time.
If i can do anything for you, if you'd like to break out, see something different, feel free to contact me.
You are always welcome to my home.

Best wishes to you, Rob.

Rob,

First off, I apologize greatly if what I said offends you. My intent was to use "being swamped" as a catch-all description for the factors which have prevented you from being able to offer the high level of support you were offering previously. This was done out of a desire to not go around blurting out the details of your situation. Maybe it's therapeutic for you to tell us about what's going on in your life, and I think most of us are perfectly happy to listen and to talk about them with you. But in all honesty, I'm not the right guy to be broadcasting those details to someone who's asking about empeg support, so I preferred to mask the details in a more generic term, to let the original poster know that support might take awhile.

Secondly, I know some of what you're going through via firsthand experience, being the child of divorced parents, and having an alcoholic father. While I haven't gone through a divorce myself, I've been affected by it, and know what it can do. It may not mean much for me to say that now, but I hope that you can come back to this thread at a time when you've overcome some of the grief you're feeling now and understand that I had no ill intent to my post.

In closing, I just want to wish you the best. You and I have never met, but I am pretty confident in saying the alcohol was doing most of the talking here, and I hope the Rob I remember from before comes back soon.
