Saw the second one in IMAX and I was frankly underwhelmed. I'm assuming the film wasn't shot natively in IMAX and was a blow up, it looked it. Movement was blurry and the framing of shots meant you were constantly looking around trying to catch the action. I'll definitely be watching the third one, but I'll probably go to a normal screen to see it.

I tend to agree ... I think the "experience" was very cool, and the sound was pretty awesome. I also noticed a lot of details (like skin blemishes, etc) that I didn't see on the small screen. I will most likely see it first in non-IMAX, but I would like to check it out on the big-ass imax screen at some point.

Not me, I will go straight to Imax for this one if I can swing it.

I am going to go see it at the local IMAX theater only.

1) no trailers or ads before the movie.
2) the IMAX theater gets the aspect ratio setting correct when showing movies
3) it's not in a mall so all the high schoolers won't just be hanging out
4) The local AMC SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. since my roommate has a 110 inch screen with an LCD projector I don't really like the local theater very much.
