Hi - read through the faq and tried to search this forum and couldnt find my specific problem. Screwing around with the player and got it in Aux in while its sitting on my desk here. It is sitting in "waiting" mode and I cant get it out with any remote button or the panel buttons. I tried to reinstall the firmware with no success. Suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks

Do any of the front panel buttons respond to your input? For example, can you bring up the main menu? If so, what happens when you select "Source"?

You said you reinstalled the firmware. What version of the firmware?

Wow, that's interesting. So when you unplug it and plug it back in again, it boots into Aux mode and then stays stuck there with the buttons non-responsive? Interesting.

Are you by any chance using Hijack and setting it so that it switches to the Aux input when the mute line goes high?

If not, get a boot log and post it here. Let's see if there's any odd errors coming up.

I had a very similar problem with my FIRST player. Support ended up having to replace the whole thing.
To get it unstuck, try this:
Get to a shell prompt over the serial connecton, and run the player manually with the option to ignore persist data. That always seemed to get it for me. Of course, you lose your volumne and current playlist as well..

Me.

Oh, and it had nothing to do with HiJack - my old player did it with and without HiJack installed.
As far as I can remember, there were no error-messages on the boot-log, however, the player process itself ran extremely high. Load averages topped 8.0 across the board.
(Now, thinking of it, I think that on mine, at least, you COULD get into the Hijack menu..)

I wonder if part of the 2.0 consumer/final file was corrupted during download causing the strange behavior you saw? Others here can probably comment on the probability of this guess being right.

Glad it's going now.
