I have been experiencing weird behavior for a little while.

First: I would be driving and hitting next to find a song I like. The player would lock up. Sometimes the song would continue playing. But I could not do anything without cycling the power.

Second: Everytime the player boots the current playlist is empty. I would listen to a song, cycle the power, then have nothing ( [-/-] ) at the bottom. This happens both on AC and DC.

Number 1 first started with 2.0, but in going back to b13, I still have both problems. With and without Hijack. Also now a down down down takes significantly longer to load, with no new music added.

Any ideas?

Sounds like disk trouble, like a damaged scratch partition, or maybe database trouble.

Is it repairable? Or am I yet again replacing my disks?

Dunno. Depends on what, exactly, is wrong. Make sure to rule out all possible causes of disk trouble, and then try to rebuild the database.
