Since two days I've got a big problem.
Suddenly my empeg hangs up, most time in player mode, sometime ins radio mode.
I can't see any system under which circumstances this problem occurs.
The player stops playing, but the timeindex keeps on running.
No matter what I do, there no chance to get him back playing.
After removing the player from the slot an rebooting it I hear only loud noises.
This only happens when the player is in the car, when I use it at home, everything is completly normal.

I hope anyone can help me, because this can be a really cruel summer, if I don't get it fixed

MK2
version 2.00-beta13

thx a lot...

might sound obvious, but you could do a lot worse than popping 2.0 final onto it. Many bugfixes etc

Good idea, I'll try that an report what happened.

So, done!
Problem still occurs.
I think that it's more a problem of the audio hardware, than the empeg.
Has anybody an idea what the problem could be?

I agree. Contact support: carsupport@sonicblue.com.

Edit: Oops. Missed the ``okay at home'' part. So maybe that's not the right thing to do.

Greetings!

If I read the post correctly, you said that it works fine when used in the home? If this is the case, you might want to check the connector on the sled - verify that no wires are loose or grounding out. Also, if there is someone nearby with another player, try that person's player in your sled.

I just want to eliminate the car install from the player itself.

The player stops playing, but the timeindex keeps on running.
Are you sure the "player stops playing", or is it just that the amplifier goes silent?

Good question...
I don't know how to find out.
But the fact that I've got no problems at home could be a hint, the the amplifier might got a problem.

I don't know how to find out.
Do you have a portable player (like a CD player or a walkman) which has a line out jack, and do you have the proper adapter to connect it to the RCA plugs on your amp? When the problem happens, go to your trunk (or whereever the amplifier lies), unplug the RCA plugs from the amplifier and plug your portable into it instead. Does it play fine, or does it exhibit the same problems? If the latter, then the problem is the amp, its wiring, or perhaps a problem with the blue remote-turn-on wire where it connects to the empeg.

Also, definitely check to make sure you don't have this problem.
