Please tell me I am doing somthing wrong, but I intalled the 2.0 software on a friends pc which has xp on it and still can't get the usb to work. I followed the instuctions in the release notes and his pc is showing that it is using the new driver (RIOXDRV.SYS) and xp still says "it seems the device is no longer connected". I am also running the latest ver. of hijack on the empeg. The empeg still works fine on my pc which has win 98.

Have you connected other USB devices to that computer, and do they work OK?

(Trying to narrow down whether it's a hardware issue...)

Yep all the other usb things work fine. His pc is fairly new and it has 2 usb plugs in the front and four in the back and I tried all of them. Actually if you leave the empeg screen up while it's looking for the empegs it will find it and if you wait it will go away and then find it again and so on... I know it's wierd.

Works fine for me. I haven't tried with USB 2.0 but I'd guess Roger and Mike probably have.

Hmm.. I don't know if his pc has usb2.0 it's a compaq presario 9600 I think. I think his pc is just goofy, I have three pc's that I built myself and the empeg works fine on all of them just fine.

This happens on my friend's PC too. What motherboard have you got? Perhaps some chipsets are still unhappy even with RIOXDRV.SYS.

Hmm.. thats a good question, it's a compaq pc. I tried it on aonther pc with xp and it worked fine though.

Some of the older Compaqs (~3-4 yrs) had buggy USB hardware. What model have you got?
