I'm getting frustrated! It seems it is very difficult to find the images from which Modest Mussorgsky's piece "Pictures at an Exhibition" got its inspiration. All I know is that they were made by his friend Victor Hartmann. Aside from that, I cannot find the actual paintings.
For those of you familiar with the piece, these are the ones I need:
-first, I don't know if any of the Promenades have corresponding images, but they might.
-1. Gnomus
-2. The Old Castle
-5. Ballet of the Unhatched Chickens
-E. Cum Motius in Lingua Mortua (Speaking to the Dead in a Dead Language)
-9. The Hut on Fowl's Legs
-10. The Great Gate of Kiev
If anyone knows where I can find these paintings, I'd greatly appreciate it!
