just wondering what the current status of shipping is for those of us who ordered something other than 12 gig blue? actually, the delay worked well so far. i inherited a hand me down 2000 miata to replace my '97, so if i had received and installed my empeg last week, i would have had to remove it right away. just that now my pioneer is installed in the 2000, but there is a gaping hole above it waiting for an empeg, and i have heard no word on shipping.
i am hoping i am one of those people rob said would get their shipping info hours before the empeg actually arrives.
thanks, jeremy
oh, i wish i wish i had an empeg...

We shipped 40 non-12Gb-blue players today, with lots more going tomorrow. The backlog should be cleared tomorrow or Wednesday.
I think your player may have gone out today, but I couldn't swear to it - if you got a shipping confirmation, then it shipped!

I got shipping information for my 12 Gig Amber As Rob said 40 non blue12 Gig were going out and I'm Reg#948 an got one of these 40 it looks like it won't take too look to clear the backlog. Unfortunately for the guys@empeg - I thought there would be more clients ordering a Mk2. But I think when they are on stock some more people will buy it... (I already told some people how things are going on with empeg - and some of them seem to be interested - maybe some more futural clients... If I have the unit and it is installed in my car it'll be impressing very much I think...) Let's see.. TeeMcBee Reg#948 - already ordered a Mk2.

They are still on pretty low numbers within the backlog, you have to remember, that most of the backlog are from people that subscribed over a year ago, I expect more of the newer subscriptions will order, so the invitations will be that little further apart. I must admit, being in the 15000 - 16000 range myself, and they are allready upto 9000, I was shocked at how fast the invertations where going out, but then I realised actualy how long most of these had been on the waiting list. Although, juding by the rate the invertations are going out, even with a slow down, the list should be cleared by the end of August. At this rate, I should be able to order mine by the 22nd (my birthday, do I get the birthday bumps down the list to 10000 or so ). I got the money, but not the invitation, but that wont last long at this rate. Hats off to you guys, have a beer on me, although I aint bying. Proud owner of #161

You know I have the same sort of problem.. I am #14229 in queue, I have the money ...er, wait.. I have a VISA, not the money :P, but it's reaching it's 'limit' from other purchases slowly..
My other problem is that I have a brand new car (ok, in two weeks I've driven almost 4000 kilometers with it - a VW Golf V6), but I do NOT have any head-unit installed yet.. This is causing terrible anguish as I've always listened to music in car -- the V6's PURR of a motor-sound has kept me satisfied for the first two weeks but now I seem to be aching for a stereo set..
I've been having these terrible 'moments' since the end of last week - a couple of times I've already been trying to BUY a CD-stereo player for my car but some strange occurences have made me fail in this.. makes me wonder what dark offerings the guys at Empeg have made to whatever Goddesses they worship ;P ;P
- I went to a local 'top notch' in car hifi store but their display room was under reconstruction..
- I've found myself stuck in strange 'road construction' traffic jams, thus arriving at the stores at an hour that is too late for any serious install-work (the notion of maybe-they-had-time-to-install-something-now). Not to mention the fact that I'd like to browse around for the right equipment.
- I went to the local VW dealer for 'connector parts' as I heard the VW wirings are different even though the plugs may look the same.. But a large plastic bag got stuck and burned in the exhaust pipes under the car - forced me to stop, lift the car up and to scrape it off.. Of course the guy at the 'parts' section left exactly at 4pm..
Right at this moment I'm feeling content waiting for the Empeg but the matter keeps nagging me every time I set my foot in the little Golf.. (and my birthday is in September so I won't get that boost either :)) I'm looking forward to keeping the Empeg as my only head-unit in the car so having two units is not really an option..

Yep, up to 10,000. I might contact up to 11,000 tonight.
We've found that we're getting a steady stream of orders from each mailing, rather than one big rush, and because we now have regular sustained stock we can move quite quickly through the queue.

The answer to this question is yes. Maybe you should have rephrased it to say:
"So you have contacted ALL people with registration numbers < 10,000?"
Yeah yeah, I know I'm being picky! I'm sure the empeg guys really knew what you meant, but I'm interested in the answer too and didn't want to have it dodged by a witty response like mine .

Rob,
Don't do that to me. I am 10316, now you have got me checking my email every ten minutes. Now I have to go figure out the time difference between there and California so I can see if it still qualifies as "tonight" there.

We're currently contacting clients who completed the confirmation form back in May. Those that didn't get around to it will be contacted in a catch-up mailshot at some point - but are free to order right away if they see we've reached their number.

FYI, I am in the high-mid 5000 range and received shipping confirmation as of [Thu, 10 Aug 2000 19:40:53 +0100] according to the e-mail header from empeg.com. If it weren't for the 14-hour days at work this past week, I'd be wormy in anticipation. - -- ----- -- - Queue # 57xx

Out of curiousity has there been some delay? Seems that you where sending out about 1000 invites/day for a week or so and then nothing for the last 4 or 5 days? Just anxious as I expect to get an invite in the next batch.

Yeah, Rob said here what was going on, if you follow the thread. Essentially, a test rig failed and set them back a day or so. I'd expect things to get back to normal sometime this week. George

Sending out that many invites generated a lot of orders - we don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves and keep people waiting for long. Waiting in a registration queue is one thing, but waiting after placing an order is less acceptable!
Production is going really well now - around 35 players shipping per day, and sometimes rather more. I just contacted 10,001 to 12,000.
