Can some one tell what are these F-G Amps.
I' m buying one Amp for may EMPEG MARK1 player, and I don't know wich one.

or Pioneer GM-X924

I suspect that floating ground amps don't have their case or signal grounds connected to power ground. This would be useful when putting one in a strange-ass car that has it's body connected to the positive battery terminal.

All (decent) in-car amps have floating ground inputs - anything from a name brand, definitely.

If you're installing a Mk.1 then the first thing you'll need to do is short those floating grounds to ground using the cables supplied!

I thought it was the opposite. I thought that the cables were supposed to make non-floating-ground amplifiers work properly with the Mk1.

Have I had it wrong all along?

The cables simply tie the RCA plug grounds to chassis ground - i.e. they defeat the floating input of most amplifiers. This is because the Mk.1 has floating outputs - you can't float BOTH ends of the connection (at least, not usually, but since this is a black art it has been known to happen).

Umm.. I guess you could delete it and start over!

The mechanics of the process are correct, just the reasoning is wrong. Just delete the reasoning - I'm sure most of the 350 Mk.1 owners have worked it out by now anyway.
