i have been using ethernet for a long time now and all of a sudden, connecting to the player through ethernet is not working.

i have 2 ethernet cards on my PC and i use one to connect to the cable router for internet, file sharing, and all that. the second is obliously for the empeg. so the card i use for the empeg has an ip of lets say 192.168.123.137 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. now i set the empeg at 192.168.123.138 with the same subnet mask and she won't connect. after i checked the about screen on the empeg i have found that the subnet on the player is 255.255.255.255? i thought that was strange so i double-checked and found that it's set correctly in the config.ini file as well as in the networking tab in emplode. this is excruciating since the serial connection takes forever everytime i try something different.

any ideas?

-TIA

Did you, by any chance, install the Mark 1 version of the player software onto it?

had to uninstall the card and re-assign a new "private" ip address.
