When the car is docked in the sled, does the serial port on the empeg (not the sled) still work? Please tell me it does.

I'm pretty sure they're the same device and accessed the same way by the Linux code. So yeah, I think they are both functional. However they are wired differently, click here for the details.

Confirmed. The serial port on the empeg does work when docked. I made a bitchin' null modem cable with only the metal part of the connector and cut the shield on the cable so the wires would come out the front when docked.

At 4800k, hyperterm was spewing out garbage for the most part. I had to force 115200k to get that to work. The reason for all this was to debug my stalk converter, but it appears to be busted. So.... whom can I contract to make me a Saab -> Sony Stalk converter?
