For those staying in the cabins, please call 1-800-282-7275 to pay for your lodging in advance. We have until tomorrow to pay for the cabins. The fee is $29.00 per person for each night. That will take care of the taxes and other fees charged. The cabins will be assigned to the group a week or two before the meet and they said they would try their best to have them close together. You can decide on the assignments when you arrive so you can decide whom you want to stay with. Those that need a room together (couples or friends) will be able to do so, there are enough rooms.

So far only Mark and Rob have called and put money down. They are both paying for their own cabins so we have 4 cabins that still need paid for. If no one pays then it is going to all be charged to me since I don't want to lose the cabins. So those that don't pay by tomorrow can pay me when they come.

If you are on the fence, I would like to remind you that there will be a tuner given away. As you can see, I have already paid. I will be there and so will the tuner.

Nevermind people. I am going to pay the $150 deposit per cabin for now. I talked with them and they seem to be too confused to accept the $29 from each person. We'll work out the money at the meet.

So when you are there you can either give me a check or we'll figure out how you can pay the Park by credit card.

Thanks Laura...I called the park folks twice and they were all screwed up. I'll make sure I bring my checkbook to the meet. Lemme know if there's anything I can do to help.

Just a side note. When I paid they said they would be sending out some papers that day. I have not gotten them yet (a week later).

Did you mean to rent a 1 bedroom cabin to yourself? It doesn't matter to me but that is what they have you down for so let me know if this isn't right.

I didn't intend to do that, but that is fine. As long as I have my own bedroom, or bed at the very least, I am fine.

That's why I was asking. You're going to end up paying $129 per night for 2 nights with that cabin. I can call them tomorrow and switch it and get it taken care of. Just let me know. I can't guarantee you will have your own room in the other cabins but you would have your own bed.

I don't remember agreeing to such a price over the phone. The whole transaction felt rushed, so maybe I wasn't paying full attention.

I'll probably have them refund all of your money and then you can pay when you come like the rest of the group. They don't want to accept payments from each individual for the deposits, they want a lump sum of $150 per cabin to hold them. This they didn't explain to me in the beginning when they said it was ok for each person to pay.

With the problems they have had about the whole thing, I'll think of a different place to hold it next year. Maybe in Indiana which is a hop, skip and a jump from here. They have some very nice parks with cabins.

Taken care of this morning Rob. You should get a credit on your credit card for the amount that you put down. Give it a few days and check to make sure that it was done.

I'm not sure if it matters, but they did mail me confirmation papers on my reservation. It is not postmarked, but it seems like it arrived after about two weeks. Other than incorrectly spelling my last name all was in order. Perhaps I will have to change my handle to "MMarrow".

As I indicated to Laura, I had intended to pay for an entire cabin since I will be bringing along my family. I hope the group doesn't consider this anti-social, since we do plan to participate in all of the group activities.

P.S. I have a tuner for my empeg, but my wife doesn't have one for her (yet to be installed) player. Rob will have to clarify his fine print as to if having a tuner in the family disqualifies us from an entry in the drawing. My plan was to buy a tuner kit or two from Patrick once they become available, but winning one would be even better.

Uhhh, I don't really want to field that one. Ultimately it is up to Laura (I think).

I would say it's up to you whether you include yourself in the drawing. Maybe once we all meet, you may see people that are desperate for a tuner but lack the ability to build the new ones. Then you may decide not to include yourself in the drawing. I'm not saying you should do that, but it may happen. It's up to you unless Laura says otherwise.

Don't get me wrong ... our reason for attending the meet is not driven by a chance to win the tuner. It is very generous of you to provide it as a prize, and there will be no hard feelings if the decision is one tuner per household.

The main reason that my wife didn't want her empeg installed when she got her '02 TDI Beetle was that she didn't want to do without a radio during her daily commute. I could kick myself for not ordering two tuners when we ordered our two empegs, but I really didn't think SONICblue would even send me the one I ordered. They showed them sold out when I placed the order during the "sell out" last December, yet accepted the order and fortunately found one to ship.

I certainly can relate. Since the TDI gets close to 50mpg, it is always hard to decide when we take a long trip ... cheap gas or good tunes?

Oh no, I don't want to make that decision either. I thought since it is your tuner to give away you could make the rules. But if I have to then I would say she's an owner without a tuner and should be able to enter, but you can over rule me on this Rob.

I have a tuner already and in the months that I have had it installed I have listened to it maybe 10 minutes total and I used to live on radio. I don't miss radio at all, but I don't want to sell it either.

I'm leaning towards the one tuner per household rule. I would like to avoid making that a final rule until we see who shows up to the meet. This is why....

ineedcolor is the only person I know that is showing up and doesn't own a tuner. Although I like the guy, it would be no fun to just hand him the tuner if he were the only person to fit those criteria.
