This is a true story. I mean, I don't know about the stuff they're taking about now, but a 25-year-old named Valentine Strasser was the leader of Sierra Leone for a few years as the result of a successful coup.
A friend sent me the link. I know it is a true story -- I didn't really mean to accuse the Washington Post of parody. It is pretty unbelievable, though. Against the backdrop of Sierra Leone's horrific recent experiences, to have a headline like that surface. The irony was too much. I'm not quite sure how to feel about it.
As they say, though, sometimes truth is stranger than The Onion. They say that, don't they?
