Since many of you are car buffs I thought I would post this question here. As you can tell I own a Dodge Classic. I really like this car but there is one thing that bothers me deeply, the lack of shoulder restraints. This car is a convertible, 2 door, so there are no center posts. The seats are bucket seats and do not latch. Do any of you know of a retro kit for installing shoulder restraints in classic cars. I love to drive this car, it is just BAD. But I wouild feel much safer if I didn't have to worry quite so much about getting center punched by the steering column or going through the windshield.

Thanks!

No shoulder belts and non-latching seats.

My God, you'd think they were trying to kill you.

I searched Google for "shoulder belts dodge dart" and found a few pages. One guy had a '66 he added shoulder belts to but doesn't go into detail. Maybe you can email him. It's the first link on the search.

If you want we could trade my 97 Neon ACR for the Dart, it's got shoudler belts... A friend in high school had a 64 Fart, swapped out the D for an F from a Ford. We used to hide three in the trunk to get in the drive-ins and it was an excellent car to hit the big plastic garbage cans with...

64.5 - 67 mustangs have the same problem/feature. Mustang & Fords magazine (9/02) ran an article on how to install 3 point seat belts provided by Pony Car Sales and Restoration in CA 714-639-4457. The setup bolts to the floorboard and the belt goes up over the left shoulder of the seat. The kit doesn't look Mustang specific but I've no idea what the seatbelts in a Dart look like. If you want a scan of the article let me know.
